A high-level discussion of U.S. – Africa policy in today’s context by those individuals whose body of work has impacted and advanced issues affecting the continent of Africa and U.S.-Africa policy. The Series has helped to garner support for Africa from the U.S. government, academia, the private sector, civil society organizations, and businesses. Named in honor of the former Chairman of The Africa Society Board, the Series was launched in 2002, in partnership with African embassies.
Conversation and Dinner with African Ambassadors Series provides a forum for African Ambassadors to dialogue with policymakers and the media about the foreign policy objectives of their respective countries, and to address issues ranging from misperceptions about their countries to strategies for attaining improved bilateral U.S.-Africa relations.
The Africa Society launched thisinnovative program on Capitol Hill in 2006.
This series showcases African literary figures whose work has raised the profile of, and increased knowledge about, the continent’s literary contributions throughout the world.
This series is a collaborative partnership of the Library of Congress’ African and Middle Eastern Division’s Africa Section, the Poetry and Literature Center, The Africa Society and Howard University’s Center for African Studies.
The U.S. – Africa Policy Discussions are designed to provide a platform for high-level African government leaders to engage with American business and public policy leaders to further improve and strengthen our socio-economic and trade relationships.
Our primary goal is to foster constructive dialogue that enables more productive and sustainable partnerships that facilitate understanding and advance mutual interests.
