Democracy Threatened: The Legitimacy of Elections in Africa hosted in partnership with Howard University’s Ralph Bunch International Affairs Center, where most of the forum programs are held.

The program Promoting Youth-Inclusive Policies for Growth: A Panel Discussion was held in September 2016 featuring Congressmember Karen Bass, Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations together with The Honorable Mame Mbaye Niang, Minister of Youth, Employment and Citizenship, from the Republic of Senegal; The Honorable Mahamane Baby, Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, from the Republic of Mali and the Honorable Alieu K. Jammeh, Minister of Youth and Sports, from the Republic of The Gambia. The Honorable Ministers discussed the challenges and opportunities of Youth unemployment in their respective countries while public and private sector leaders shared evidence based policies and best practices.
